Continue Reading below; we will discuss what you need to know about Lightroom Presets!
What Are Presets?
One of the most versatile features in Lightroom is the presets. You can either use the automated ones or customize your own. Presets are like filters; they’re customized editing filter sets that you can apply to all your photos to get a consistent look without having to change the settings for every picture. Lightroom presets are convenient to use, and save you a lot of time that you’d otherwise spend on editing each of your pictures.
The software comes with an incredible preset collection, which you can select as per your needs and convenience and adjust the settings accordingly. Where Are Presets Used? Presets can easily be used in the Lightroom app on your phone, free of cost. However, if you wish to edit on your desktop, you’ll have to purchase an Adobe Lightroom membership.
How To Use Presets?
Once you’ve purchased and downloaded the preset package, it will be downloaded on your computer or phone as a zip file or as multiple DNG files. You can unzip the folder, and choose the ones that are suitable for your pictures. On your phone, you’ll have to import the DNG files into the app. You can easily apply these presets on your pictures once you’ve opened the album.
On the desktop, you’ll find the presets under the preferences tab. Upload the DNG files on your Lightroom album and copy-paste the preset folder. You’ll have to restart the software to see your preset collection.
